Kitchen Granite

Granite is a crystalline stone that comes in several colours and patterns. It is a strong stone, known for its durability and strength. Since Granite does not scratch or stain easily, it is easy to maintain. Since Granite does not absorb moisture or harbour bacteria, it is deemed hypoallergenic and hygienic. This makes Granite apt for designing Kitchens.

The most common application of Granite in kitchens is in making countertops. Granite countertops don’t get cut by knives or sharp objects. Granite surfaces are resistant to scratches and cuts. Unlike other natural stones, Granite does not absorb heat. This property is essential for Indian kitchens, where most of the cooking involves heat and high temperatures. And Granite does not disintegrate when it comes in contact with acids. These factors make Granite ideal for making kitchen countertops.

Granite blends really well with wood and metal, this enables it to be used making dining table surfaces as well. It does not stain easily and is easy to clean. Granite is not fragile. It does not need special care but lasts for a long time. Granite dining tables elicit a grandness to the family dining experience. A lazy susan made of Granite only enhances this experience with some vintage-style fun.

Granite uses aren’t restricted to tabletops and kitchen countertops. Granite can also be used to make accented shelves in kitchens. Not only are Granite accented shelves strong and stable, but they also impart a natural earthy feel to the Kitchen. Traditional Indian Kitchenware like mortar and pestle, or rolling boards are usually made of Granite too. Granite accented shelves form the perfect storage-display for them.

Since Granite does not get scratches or stain easily, it is considered a good material to make backsplash and kitchen sinks. Unlike metal sinks, Granite sinks does not deform or bend with heat or pressure. And cleaning vessels in a Granite sink isn’t as much of a noisy affair. So if you want to use a natural stone that is both strong and safe for food in your kitchen, then Granite is the perfect choice!
